Monday morning I went out with my partner for a walk downtown. Around Porta Nuova we was standing at a crossroads waiting for the green light. Close to us a couple, a man and a woman waiting like us and looking like if they really were in need of cash. So here we are, the four of us waiting for the green light while on the other side of the road another couple (a woman and her daughter I guess) are going towards us and walk without any notice and not waiting for the green light. A car passing by in that precise moment hit the brake to allow them to cross the street. They look awesome, both of them, the young one is wearing the equivalent of a monthly wage, nice bag, nice shoes, nice dress, perfect make up, everything at the right place. They literally walk towards us and we move aside. The man of the couple close so us says: "And we always complain about bad drivers..." we just smile but not a comment. Green light, we cross the street and when we reach the other sidewalk they salute us wishin’ good day. After a while my partner tells me: "Rob, question: how come the more polite and kind ones are the poorest ones?". I did not reply... but she was right in the end... why? How come?
We’re all stading at a crossroads and every step we take we can simply choose how to act and react. Yes, because everyone of us has his/her bad temper but attitude is something we can choose every time... in time. Trouble is that we often make the wrong decision!

But as long as you have the ability to recognize the difference between the two and decide which you'd like to be, we will all be alright. Because there has to be balance everywhere. As much as we don't like the rude people, they balance out the nice. And that's important.

I guess that every part of the world is the same, there can be rude or nice people no matter where you are, I guess that if you "need" to leave Texas (TX is Texas, isn't it?) has probably to be for different reasons... you might be disapponted when you discover that you find the good and bad everywhere... don't you think?

I've even heard about places in the US where you're not supposed to smile at someone because they think you're making fun of them if you do. Which is sad, to me.
I don't know. But perhaps changing ourselves first is important, because it will show what can happen when we choose to be peaceful.
I like the picture :)
